Admission Programme: Admission to MBBS, BDS, B.Sc Nursing and BPT (collectively called as UG courses) of this institution, are on the basis of merit obtained in the admission written test (UG-AWT-2012) conducted by Christian Medical College Ludhiana Society

Eligibility Criteria

Age: Applicants must be at least 17 years of age on 31st December, 2012 (the date of birth being shown on the Matriculation or Higher Secondary Certificate or equivalent certificate)

Applicants born after 31st December, 1994 are not eligible to apply for admission to Undergraduate courses starting in July 2012

Nationality: Applicants must be citizens of India for UG AWT 2012

Persons of Indian origin with citizenship of other countries may apply under NRI category for which a separate prospectus is available

No other foreign national will be admitted

Academic Requirements

MBBS, BDS: A candidate for admission to MBBS and BDS courses must have obtained not less than 50% marks in English and 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together at the qualifying examination (as per MCI Regulations 1997)

B.Sc Nursing, BPT: Admission to B.Sc Nursing and BPT course a candidate must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 45% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English in 10+2 examination

In respect of candidates belonging to SC/ST/BC the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry Biology and English taken together in qualifying examination be 40%

He/she has passed qualifying examination; the higher secondary examination or the Indian School Certificate Examination which is equivalent to 10+2 Higher Secondary Examination after a period of 12 years study, the last two years of study comprising of Physics, Chemistry and Biology after the introduction of the 10+2+3 years education structure as recommended by the National Committee on education; or

The intermediate examination in science of an Indian University/Board of recognized examining body with Physics, Chemistry and Biology which shall include a practical test in these subjects and also English as a compulsory subject; or

The Pre-professional/pre-medical examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology, after passing either the higher secondary school examination, or the Pre-university or an equivalent examination

The pre professional/pre-medical examination shall include a practical test in Physics, Chemistry and Biology and also English as a compulsory subject; or

The first year of the three-year degree course of a recognized university with Physics, Chemistry and Biology including a practical test in these subjects provided the examination is a University Examination and candidate has passed 10+2 with English at a level not less than a core course; or

B.Sc examination of an Indian University, provided that he/she has passed the B.Sc examination with not less than two of the following subjects Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany, Zoology) and further that he/she has passed the earlier qualifying examination with the following subjects Physics, Chemistry and Biology and English; or

Seats: MBBS-75 seats; BDS-40 seats; B.Sc Nursing-60 seats; BPT-20 seats

UG-AWT-2012: A common undergraduate admission written test (UG-AWT-2012) will be held for the undergraduate courses

Date of UG-AWT 2012: 25th May, 2012 from 02.00 p.m. to 04.30 p.m.

Test Pattern: Test will be conducted in the subject of Physics, Chemistry and Biology (12th class standard under 10+2 system) and also shall include test on General Aptitude

There will be 50 questions on each subject, a total of 200 questions

All questions will be multiple choice type

There will be no negative marking for wrong answers

Bible Test is of objective type with 50 questions and is based on facts from the Holy Bible (English Language only)

Test Centers: Allahabad, Amritsar, Bhatinda, Calcutta, Chandigarh, Chennai, Kochi, Ludhiana, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi

Admit Card: Admit card will be available to all the applicants whose application form (both online and print) along with full application fee has been received by the office of the Registrar, by 19th May, 2012, irrespective of eligibility

If the admit card is not received by 22nd May, 2012, the applicant should contact the Registrar’s office and send a copy of the request by e-mail/fax

Cut off Score: For MBBS/BDS courses applicants must have obtained not less than 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together in the UG-AWT-2012

For B.Sc Nursing/BPT course applicants there is no cut off point

Christian applicants should have scored 45% marks in the Bible Test to be considered under Christian quotas

Bible Test marks are not considered for merit preparation

Every candidate will be required to log on to Admissions-2012 on the institutional websites

The online application form must be filled and submitted online (mandatory)

Log on to www.cmcludhiana.in or www.cmcludhiana.org and navigate to link UG-2012-MBBS/BDS/B.Sc Nursing/BPT and follow the instructions given

After successful registration, your application number will be assigned

Note this down for any future reference

After filling the on line form, upload your recent photograph (preferably of a minimum size of 295×356 pixels) in the appropriate space provided and submit

Take the print-out of your online application form on an A4 size sheet

Staple two recent passport size photographs in the appropriate spaces on the printed form and sign in the space provided for signature of the candidate

Attach the demand draft to the form

Application fee may also be paid directly into CMC Account (No-13720200003943) directly through any branch of Federal Bank

Details of Candidates name, Fathers Name and CMC Application number must be given to the bank

The Transaction ID generated by the bank must be quoted in the space provided in the online application form

The original transaction slip must be attached to the printed application form

Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP) 2012-14

Two year Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP) 2012-14 batch at RAS AL Khaimah (RAK), UAE commencing in September, 2012

Minimum Eligibility: The candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree, with at least 50% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA awarded by any of the universities that are recognized by Association of Indian Universities (AIU) or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Govt of India

The percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in the bachelor’s degree would be calculated based on the practice followed by the University/Institution from where the candidate has obtained the degree

In case the candidates are awarded grades/CGPA instead of marks, the conversion of grades/CGPA to percentage of marks would be based on the procedure certified by the university/institution from where they have obtained the bachelor’s degree

In case the University/Institution does not have any scheme for converting CGPA into equivalent marks, dividing the candidate’s CGPA by the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying the result with 100 would establish the equivalence

Candidates appearing for the final year of bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed Bachelor’s degree requirements and are awaiting results can also apply

However, the candidates who are appearing for final year examination should have 50% aggregate marks or equivalent grades up to pre-final year

In addition to 50% aggregate marks at Bachelor’s degree, candidates meeting the following criteria are eligible to apply

Meeting the minimum eligibility does not guarantee final selection

Minimum of 85.00 overall percentile score in CAT-2011, or minimum of 600 overall score in GMAT (GMAT score obtained during 01st January, 2011 and 15th June, 2012 is only valid)

How to apply: Candidates seeking admission to the two year PGP of IIM Indore at RAK, UAE should apply online on or before 20th June, 2012

Admission Process: The admission process will be consisting of two stages

Eligible candidates will be called for a short duration Written Ability Test (WAT) and personal interview (PI) based on their academic record, performance in CAT 2011/GMAT

Final selection to the PGP would be based on criteria, such as the candidate’s academic record, scholastic achievements, relevant work experience, and performance in CAT 2011/GMAT, WAT and PI

However, IIM Indore reserves the right to change the criteria at its discretion

WAT and PI will be conducted at Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Indore, Kolkata, Mumbai, Ras Al Khaimah (RAK), UAE

Admission Process: All India Common Entrance Test for the selection to undergraduate courses in Physiotherapy (B.PTh) and Nursing (B.Sc Nursing/Post Basic B.Sc Nursing) for the academic year 2012- 13 will be conducted by the Admission Committee

Intake/Duration

College of Physiotherapy: B.PTh (50) 4 years plus 6 months internship

College of Nursing: B.Sc Nursing (30) 4 years

General Category: 85% seats are reserved under this category

The admission to this category will be made on the basis of inter se merit of the candidates at PIMS-AICET-ASUG 2012

FN/PIO/NRI Category: 15% seats are reserved under this category

The Foreign National (FN), wards of Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) settled abroad and wards of Non Resident Indians (NRI) are eligible to apply under this category

Preference will be given to the foreign nationals and wards of PIO

The merit of candidates seeking admission under this category will be decided by the PIMS University taking into consideration equivalence and recognition of the examination passed by the candidate and his academic performance; marks/grade obtained by him

Candidates seeking admission under this category will have to apply separately to the Registrar, PIMS University

Eligibility

B.PTh (Bachelor of Physiotherapy): Candidate must be Indian National

Candidate must have passed qualifying examination, HSC (or equivalent) examination with the subject Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English

The candidate must be born on or before 31st December, 1995 to be eligible to appear for PIMS-AICET-ASUG 2012

The candidates who are appearing for qualifying examination, HSC (or equivalent) in February/March 2012 are eligible to appear for PIMS-AICET-ASUG-2012, however they must fulfill the eligibility condition at the time of counseling

B.Sc Nursing: Candidate must be Indian National

Candidate must have passed qualifying examination, HSC (or equivalent) examination with the subject Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English

Candidate belonging to general category must have obtained a minimum 45% marks in PCBE (Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English) at the HSC (or equivalent) examination

Candidate belonging to SC/ST category must have obtained a minimum 40% marks in PCBE (Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English) at the HSC (or equivalent) examination

Candidates belonging to the SC/ST category must attach a copy of the caste and caste validity certificate along with the application form

It should however be noted that there is no reservation for student belonging to Backward class

This certificate is required in support of relaxation of eligibility criteria if the such candidate gets an admission on the basis of inter se merit of PIMS-AICET-ASUG 2012 but has scored less than 45% marks in qualifying examinations, HSC (or equivalent)

The candidate must be born on or before 31st December, 1995 to be eligible to appear for PIMS-AICET-ASUG 2012

The candidates who are appearing for qualifying examination; HSC (or equivalent) in February/ March 2012 are eligible to appear for PIMS-AICET-ASUG-2012, however they must fulfill the eligibility condition at the time of counseling

Entrance Test Centres: The PIMS-AICET- ASUG-2012 will be conducted at following centers

Pune, Mumbai, Loni, Aurangabad, Nagpur

The venue of examination will be intimated to the candidate on his/her Hall Ticket

Application Form: The candidates are required to fill the application form completely

Incomplete application form will be rejected

The photograph on the application form should be attested by gazetted officer or Principal of the college last studied; otherwise your application form will be rejected

Hall Ticket: Candidates are required to fill Hall Ticket information provided in the application form and paste a recent sharp and clear colour photograph (not more than three months old) in the box so provided

The photograph should be the same photograph as pasted on top of the application form

In case a candidate does not receive the Hall Ticket, he/she should immediately contact Designated Authority PIMS-AICET-ASUG-2012 by Tel (02422-271475/271403) or Fax (02422-273442)

Such candidates will be issued duplicate Hall Ticket two hours before the entrance examination at the examination center after verification of receipt/identity card

Entrance Test Fee: The fee for the entrance test is Rs 750/-
